Why do men approach fitness differently than women?

All I can share is what I see. Perhaps, my sight is limited due to my environment. Nonetheless, indulge me for a minute.

When I go to the gym, I see men of all ages lifting weights. Trending is 50+ year old men in the gym. Their goal is to improve cardio and increase strength. I think that flexibility also needs to be a goal. As I observe, many struggle to bend at the knees. Don't forget, range of motion can be improved.

When I go to the gym, I see many women exercising on the cardio machines, participating in the gym’s workout sessions, or working out in a small group arm or ab workout session. These workouts are great places to start your fitness journey; however, don’t get complacent and remain there.

Strengthening your body’s muscles is a need - not an option. Once you consult your doctor, use your doctor's recommendations to create a plan to strengthen your body. Remember, you cannot target body change. If you want a bigger glute, you can't solely do glute exercises. The goal is to improve your overall body’s fitness level, and along the way, you can target the areas that mean the most to you.

The approach to fitness can indeed differ between men and women. It's important to remember that these differences are influenced by a variety of factors, including societal norms, personal goals, and individual preferences. However, both men and women can benefit from incorporating strength training into their routines, as it has a positive impact on overall health, muscle function, and metabolism. Just remember to consult your doctor before embarking on your cardio and strength training aspirations.

Ultimately, the key is to create a fitness routine that aligns with individual goals, preferences, and overall well-being. Whether it involves toning, lifting, cardio, or a combination, the focus should be on creating a sustainable and enjoyable fitness journey.
