Two vital areas worth delving into are proper lifting form and cardio exercises.
A few years ago, I had a stimulating conversation with another individual at the gym. Our exchange piqued my curiosity about cardio and underscored the necessity of lifting with correct form. Following that conversation, I started experimenting with different cardio machines. While the treadmill is the most popular choice, I personally gravitate towards the stair master, elliptical, and rowing machine. The stair master, in particular, effectively engages my heart, lungs, legs, and glutes. The elliptical machine offers a heart, lung and leg workout, with a touch of glute engagement. So they say, the pinnacle of cardio comes from the rowing machine. It delivers a comprehensive full-body workout. Just remember, it's important to maintain proper form and consistent pacing to fully reap the benefits of all cardio machines, especially the rowing machine.
When it's time to lift weights, I am extremely conscious of using correct form. When I returned to lifting, prior to each lifting sets, I made sure to watch weightlifting videos. I also recorded my workouts, reviewed them later, and assessed my own lifting techniques. This is how I gauge whether I was lifting properly and how I was progressing.
I want to emphasize that I consulted with my doctor to ensure that my workout plan aligned with my health needs. It's crucial to reach out to your doctor as well, both before you commence your fitness journey and as you make progress. Your health is your priority.
